This article aims to present a Deleuzian interpretation of the philosophy of Baruch de Espinosa, a modern thinker who opposed the main Cartesian conceptions about the nature of the world, of man and of God. Deleuze shows that Espinosa, by identifying God as the only existing substance, extinguishes the problem of substantial duality and, therefore, the problem of union between body and soul, inaugurating, together with Duns Scott and Friedrich Nietzsche, an ontology of immanence, capable of think the univocity of being. Espinosa's conceptions changed the way of understanding the body-mind relationship, seeking new paths for the current dualist stance. Revisiting his work is a way of re-discussing the dualist philosophy, still present in several current conceptions. This work is based on a qualitative research, starting from a bibliographic review of Espinosa's work from a Deleuzian interpretation of his main conceptions about his unique substance.
