Author Guidelines

1. ARTICLES

1.1. All texts sent to this journal must be unpublished and written in Portuguese, Spanish, English, observing the norms, spelling and grammatical correction. All authors must ensure that their work is original. If they use works and/or texts from third parties, the authors must cite them in the text. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical editorial behavior and is unacceptable.

1.2. The texts must be presented with a length of up to 30 (thirty) pages, with margins (right, left, top and bottom) of 3 cm, in A4 format (210x297mm), and sent electronically. The texts must be composed in text file format “.doc”, “.odt” or “.docx”, using Times New Roman font (or equivalent), size 12, and space between lines of 1 and ½.

1.3. The header must contain the title in the original language (and subtitle, if any) and translated into another language (English, Spanish or Portuguese, if this is not the original language).

1.4. The text must be accompanied by an abstract in the original language and translated into another language (English, Spanish or Portuguese, if this is not the original language), with a maximum of 250 words, single-spaced, and a list of 4 keywords that identify the content of the text.

1.5. The structure of the text must be divided into unnumbered parts, which may have subtitles.

1.6. Footnotes should not be used for bibliographic references. This resource can be used when extremely necessary.

1.7. Citations and bibliographical references will follow the norms of the Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas (ABNT), except for the author's surname in the body of the text, which must be in lowercase, with the first letter in uppercase. (Attention to rule 1.9 below).

1.8. Illustrations (figures, tables, drawings, graphs, photographs, etc.) must be sent in the body of the text (JPG, TIF or CDR formats, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi), in color or in black and white. The maximum dimensions, including caption and title, are those of A-4 format and must follow the rules of the Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas (ABNT) for citation.

1.9. The text file must not be identified with the name(s) of the author(s)/author(s) for the submission version. Names and authorship credits must be informed only in the specific fields in the submission form. (See more about blind peer review).

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

The originals will be appreciated by the Editorial Board who will accept, reject or resubmit the original to the author(s) with suggestions for editorial changes. Subsequently, the articles will be sent to the referees, whose names will remain confidential, also omitting the name(s) of the author(s). The Bulletin of the Integrated Museum of Roraima will make published articles available for consultation and reproduction on its website, with due indication of the obligation to quote the source. The concepts emitted in the works are the sole responsibility of the author(s), not implying, necessarily, the agreement of the Editorial Board of the Bulletin.

Exemplification for citations and bibliographic references according to the rules of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT):

According to ABNT NBR-10520:2001, the References must have names in the text by the last name(s) of the author(s), in capital letters, date and page, when inside the parentheses, however the MIRR Bulletin, for aesthetic reasons will adopt the following models: (Silva, 1995, p.43) and “Segundo Silva (1995, p.43)”.

If the same quoted author has more than one publication in the same year, identify each one by letters, (Silva, 1995a, p.35). Please avoid footnotes as much as possible.

The complete References (only those cited in the text) must appear at the end of the text, aligned completely to the left, in alphabetical order, and prepared in accordance with ABNT NBR-6023:2000 Guidelines: Documentary Normalization link on the website: http:/ /www.biblioteca.unesp.br/pages/normaliza.htm.

Examples: (pay attention to punctuation and style):

Book SURNAME, Names. Book's title. Place of Edition: Publisher, year of publication. No. of pg.

Book chapter SURNAME, Names (of the author of the chapter). Chapter title. In: SURNAME, Names (Ed., Org., Comp.) Book Title. Place of Edition: Publisher, year of publication. Chapter Number, p. home page – final page of the chapter.

Article SURNAME, Names. Article Title. Name of Journal, Place of Edition, v. ?, no. ?, P. initial page – final page, year of publication.

Thesis/Dissertation SURNAME, Names. Thesis/dissertation title. Publication date. No. of f. Thesis/Dissertation (Doctorate/Master in …) – Institute, University, place of defense, date of defense.

Event SURNAME, Names. Job title. In: EVENT NAME IN ALL CAPS, 5., City, date. Title Annals, Proceedings… Place of edition: Publisher, date. initial-final page of the work. Textual citations of less than three lines must appear throughout the text, in the same letter (without italics) and between quotation marks. Quotations that occupy more than three lines must be typed separately from the main text, indented, without quotation marks or italics and in smaller font than that of the main text. In both cases, the author's LAST NAME, year, page must be cited.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Todas as submissões devem atender aos seguintes requisitos.

  • O autor deve estar ciente de que os editores da Revista Boletim do Museu Integrado de Roraima utilizarão ativamente ferramentas tecnológicas avançadas para detecção de plágio, reportando qualquer constatação nesse sentido ao Conselho Editorial, que deverá adotar as medidas legais cabíveis;
  • O autor que ainda não possuir uma identificação persistente de autoria deve criar uma por meio do link de registro na ORCID. Submissões cujos autores não possuírem identificação não serão avaliadas;
  • Todos os autores devem garantir que suas as obras sejam originais. Caso utilizem o trabalho e/ou textos de outros, os autores devem fazer a devida citação no texto. Plágio em todas as suas formas constitui um comportamento editorial antiético e é inaceitável;
  • Além do manuscrito deve ser anexada a Declaração de Conflito de Interesses disponível no site devidamente preenchida e assinada;
  • O arquivo da submissão deve estar em formato Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), OpenOffice (.odt) ou Rich Text Format (.rtf);
  • URLs (links) para as referências devem ser informadas, quando possível;
  • O texto está em espaço simples; usa uma fonte de 12-pontos; emprega itálico em vez de sublinhado (exceto em endereços URL); as figuras e tabelas estão inseridas no texto, não no final do documento na forma de anexos;
  • O texto segue os padrões de estilo e requisitos bibliográficos descritos nas Diretrizes para Autores;
  • Devem ser observadas as instruções disponíveis na Política de Avaliação por Pares Cega;
  • Todas as submissões devem atender aos princípios da Declaração de Ética e Boas Práticas na Publicação;
  • No caso de obra que verse sobre pesquisa com seres humanos, deve ser anexado à submissão o parecer prévio de um Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa (CEP);
  • O arquivo de texto não pode estar identificado com o(s) nome(s) do(s)/da(s) autor(es)/autora(s). Os nomes e os respectivos créditos de autoria devem ser fixados apenas nos campos apropriados no formulário de submissão;

Authors who publish in the Bulletin of the Integrated Museum of Roraima agree with the following terms:

1) Authors retain copyright and grant the Boletim do Museu Integrado de Roraima the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License that allows sharing the work with acknowledgment of authorship and initial publication in this journal.

2) Authors are authorized to assume additional contracts separately, for non-exclusive distribution of the version of the work published in this journal (eg: publishing in an institutional repository or as a book chapter), with acknowledgment of authorship and initial publication in this journal.

3) Authors are allowed and encouraged to publish and distribute their work online (eg, in institutional repositories or on their personal page) after publication in the Bulletin of the Integrated Museum of Roraima.

The names and email addresses entered on the website of the magazine Boletim do Museu Integrado de Roraima (ISSN 2317-5206) will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this magazine and will not be made available for any other purpose or to third parties. Data collected from registered and unregistered users of this journal falls within the scope of standard functioning of peer-reviewed journals. The registered user must be aware that electronic messages will be sent by the system with the purpose of alerting or informing about events or procedures related to publishing. The journal's editorial team collects such information only to the extent necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with the journal, which includes information that enables communication to the editorial process, to inform readers about authoring and editing content and collecting aggregated data on reader behavior. Such collected data may be shared with the Public Knowledge Project on an anonymous and aggregate basis, with appropriate exceptions such as article metrics. The data will not be sold by this newspaper or PKP nor will it be used for purposes other than those stated here.
