Urban afforestation consists of arboreal plant elements present in the city and is of fundamental importance for the quality of life of citizens. The study of the urban green area aims to support a better planning of a city seeking an environmental balance so that in the future it will minimize the effects caused by urbanization. Understanding the allometric patterns that govern the growth of trees in public areas is part of modern urban planning. The aim of the study was to determine the allometric patterns of trees located in public green areas in the city of Boa Vista, Roraima. The study was based on adult individuals with a diameter at breast height (DBH) greater than or equal to 10 cm, dispersed in three public squares and central flower beds of two avenues. In the floristic survey, there was a higher relative frequency of the species Licania tomentosa with 45.10%, Handroanthus impetiginosus  with 26.65% and Pachira aquatica with 7.51% of the individuals. The best allometric relationships based on the sampling sites were between stem diameter and crown area (R² = 0.63 ) and total height and stem height (R² = 0.50). Our results reflect different allometric patterns between the sampled public areas because each of the sites is provided by cultivation of trees of different species, planting ages and management methods, generating different growth models. Our study is unprecedented and configures itself as one of the bases for discussions on the importance of afforestation within the concepts of environmental services provided by urban green areas.
