DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIVITIES IN ELECTRONIC SPREADSHEET TO TEACH PSYCHOLOGY CONCEPTS

Studies reveal difficulties in Psychology training related to the learning of Behavior Analytical and Psychological Assessment concepts. To deal with this issue, this research was organized in two studies. The objectives were to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an individualized teaching program to promote the learning of the reflex concept (Study 1) and the concept of Psychological Assessment (Study 2). In each study 10 Psychology undergraduates from different semesters were enrolled and they were exposed to activities developed in a spreadsheet that involved instructions, exercises and informative feedback on performance. The general results indicated low to moderate efficacy of the procedure for the teaching of psychological concepts. In addition, they indicated the need to improve evaluation conditions and the criteria for progression in activities. At the same time, it was evidenced the feasibility of continuing to invest in the development of computerized resources for teaching Psychology, since all participants reported satisfaction with the tasks performed and it helped to favor students’ active responses in relation to the concepts proposed.
