Urban parks as non-formal spaces for teaching geography

This article per to demonstrate the Igarapé Pricumã Linear Park as an alternative for the non-form teaching of Geography. The study area is located on the right bank of Igarapé Pricumã, in the Cinturão Verde neighborhood, in Boa Vista, Roraima. The research problematic is to analyze how the Linear Park can be used as an object of study for the teaching of Geography in order to present the contents of Geography that can be analyzed in the space in which the Linear Park is located. The justification of the research is to highlight the importance of non-formal spaces for the teaching of Geography, specifying urban parks as teaching tools for a social, scientific and field character. The research methodology involved the deductive and exploratory method for describing a investigative, bibliographic and field character, for analysis of the Geography contents that can be worked in the location where the Linear Park is located. The results show that the park has the potential to apply Geography subjects in which it can be analyzed, researched and worked as a didactic resource for non-formal education.
