Os hábitos e o modo de vida atualmente praticada vêem gerando consumo excessivo e, as conseqüências são desastrosas, por este motivo é preciso buscar alternativas como a coleta seletiva dos resíduos que minimizem os impactos ambientais. O objetivo desta pesquisa é o de realizar uma avaliação sobre os conhecimentos dos alunos do 7o ano do ensino fundamental quanto a coleta seletiva, a pesquisa foi realizada na Escola Estadual Dom José Nepote, a obtenção de dados se deu através de aplicação de questionário. O conhecimento dos discentes pode ser classificado como insuficiente, cabendo a escola através da educação ambiental amenizar tais dificuldades.
