Abstract

The Public Ministry of the State of Roraima, through the Prosecutor's Office for the Defense of the Environment, opened a Preliminary Investigation Procedure to investigate the lack of public policies on urban planning in the capital, due to the problems of flooding in the urban area of the municipality. from Boa Vista. The present work had the objective of elaborating a technical report to subsidize decisions of the State Public Ministry, regarding the Civil Inquiry. The methodology used from spatial data of the Cauamé river basin (altitude maps, drainage network and roads) to delimit by geographic coordinates and record on a map the current highest flood level of rivers and streams in the urban area of Boa Vista, in addition to the forecast of duplication of the bridge over the Cauamé River (BR-174) and its possible effects on the Urban Expansion Area - AEU of Boa Vista, considering the maximum flood of 2011. As a result, modeling of the flooding area, considering the limnometric quota 10.28 m from the 2011 flood, associated with the 00 LMEO level of the Branco river and the altitude map, which provided subsidies for the knowledge of the interaction between the elements (APPs, gallery forests and wetlands) that suffer the influence of the floods of the Branco and Cauamé rivers in the urban expansion area of Boa Vista.
